UNYA Receives Mayor’s Achievement Award

Ten citizens and eight organizations were honoured on June 12th, 2019 at the annual Awards of Excellence ceremony, a City of Vancouver program that acknowledges outstanding civic achievements made by individuals, organizations, and businesses.

 

The awards celebrate the accomplishments of people and groups whose efforts make Vancouver excellent.

 

Urban Native Youth Association was awarded the Mayor’s Achievement Award, in the Youth category.

“The positive energy and enthusiasm with which staff and volunteers support Indigenous youth creates an environment of hope and positivity that amplifies the potential of the youth they serve, and gives them a voice in the community,” said Mayor Kennedy Stewart, in presenting the award.
