Native Youth Learning Centre (NYLC)
*Please check the UNYA NYLC Facebook page for recent updates on programming.
The Native Youth Learning Centre (NYLC) is a computer-based learning centre, supporting the personal, educational, and career development of Indigenous youth ages 15 to 30.
Our focus is on helping you gain employment and pursue your education. If you're not in school right now, we can help you go back, whether that is to junior high, high school, or post-secondary school.
Our learning centre is safe, relaxed, social, and accessible. We incorporate culture into our space, and into our work, so that you can connect with and explore your culture and spirituality, while accessing a wide range of educational and training opportunities.
If you are facing obstacles to employment or education, we'll help you navigate and overcome these barriers as they come up. To help make sure that you are set up to succeed as you pursue education and employment, we will also connect you with other programs, resources, and supports in the wider community.
Partnerships and outreach are key to the success of the NYLC, and allow us to connect you to a wide range of employment and education opportunities. We are able to provide you with additional opportunities in partnership with both the public and private sector.
We recognize and respect that you have your own unique path and background, strengths and challenges. Our focus is on making sure that you can be who you are here, while we provide learning opportunities, training, and personal and academic support that works for you.
