Looking for a Mentor?
If you are 16-18 years of age,
this is for you!
Looking for guidance, support, or just someone who’s there for you? UNYA’s Mentorship Program (ages 16-18) connect Indigenous youth with supportive, non-judgmental mentors.
You’ll spend 2–4 hours each week with your mentor for at least one year—doing activities you choose, like sports, arts, culture, or just hanging out. For older teens your mentor can also help with things like job search, budgeting, and accessing employment programs or community resources. Plus, you’ll get to participate in monthly group outings with staff and other program participants. It’s all about having someone

- Our volunteer mentors are a diverse group with varied backgrounds and life experiences. While the youth in our program may self-identify as Indigenous, our mentors bring diversity in terms of their identities, education, jobs, and life stories.
- It’s important to note that our volunteers are not youth workers or counselors. These dedicated individuals are here to serve as positive role models, assisting you in discovering your strengths, working towards your goals, and exploring the community together!
