Supporting Indigenous Youth Ages 16–18
Guidance for youth stepping into independence.
Your role
- Support older teens with life transitions: school, work, housing, budgeting, goal-setting
- Help them set goals, build independence, and gain life skills
- Plan community-based, self-directed activities together
Training & support
- Thorough screening and onboarding
- Ongoing training: cultural awareness, conflict resolution, online safety, mental health, healthy boundaries, life-skills coaching
- Consistent guidance from the Kinnections Program Manager and Youth Care Counsellor
