Aboriginal Outreach Team

Meeting youth where they’re at.

Our Aboriginal Outreach Team supports Indigenous youth ages 12 to 18 through street outreach and one-to-one connection. Building safe, trusting relationships is at the heart of everything we do, so youth know they always have someone to turn to.

We meet youth where they’re at — whether that means helping with immediate needs, or connecting them with programs and services at UNYA and in the community when they’re ready.

Someone on your side — trauma-informed support and advocacy when meeting with health providers, probation officers, or others on your care team

One-to-one connection — help with daily activities, or joining ceremonies and community events together

Staying safer — harm reduction info, clean supplies, and free naloxone kits

How to Connect with Outreach

It’s okay to reach out — we’re here to listen, support, and walk alongside you, never to judge.

If you’re 12–18 and want support, you can reach us anytime. You can also ask a family member, guardian, or community worker to connect with us for you.

“Our job is really diverse — from meeting youth where they’re at and connecting with them in their own spaces, to helping out whenever and wherever we can. We approach everything with no judgment.”
