Watch this space for updates on how the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is affecting UNYA’s programs and services.
Please note that until further notice Urban Native Youth Association’s head office and all non essential face to face programming will remain closed during this time.
UNYA is closely following the direction from the Provincial Health Officer around the measures that everyone must take in order to reduce the risk in contracting COVID19 and also to do our part to plank/flatten the curve of this pandemic. All non-essential face to face programming has been suspended since March 13th, 2020. UNYA has deemed the following programs as essential service programs that must continue to operate onsite face to face programming. These programs are the Aboriginal Safe House, Ravens Lodge, and the Native Youth Health and Wellness Centre. These programs are implementing all safety precautions and protocols in order to operate safely.
UNYA will continue to provide support to youth in the community through a variety of ways, staff are reaching out to youth through virtual means, such as text, call, email, facebook messenger etc.. If you would like to get in touch with one of our staff for support or resources please call our head office phone number at 604-254-7732 and we can help connect you to the appropriate person.
We will closely monitor the current pandemic situation and provide you with updates when UNYA and its programs will open up again and offer programs onsite. Please stay tuned to all of our UNYA programs facebook pages for cool and exciting ways that all programs are using to provide helpful resources and fun things to do during this time where everyone is doing their part to self-isolate.
Wishing you all continued health and wellness,
The UNYA Team
